During any satellite installation, the dish is mounted onto a solid structure using heavy duty plugs and bolts as any dish movement may cause reception problems.
After accurately aligning the dish and tightening the securing nuts, we always waterproof the LNB connectors by carefully wrapping the connections with self-amalgamating tape.
When a satellite dish needs to be mounted on a long pole, we use T & K brackets to achieve clearance or an unobstructed view of the satellite transponder; mast guying may be required to reduce dish movement.
Poor satellite installation, dish misalignment or excessive pole movement will often cause poor signal quality and lead to satellite receiver picture loss or breaking up during bad weather.
We use RG6 cable for runs of 10m or less. If any cable runs are over 10m, we use double screened CT100 as this will prevent signal loss and improve the signal quality on a longer cable run.
Line amplifiers may be needed where coaxial cable length exceeds 30 metres.
Cables like RG6 and CT100 have a solid foam insulator which makes cable water damage less of a problem.
